I love getting packages and letters more than Christmas. You have no idea how excited I get. And, today, my package from Mr. John Vanderslice came! I'm sure that people driving by my house when I ran full speed to the doorstep to pick it up thought that something terrible had happened. But, if they could have seen the smile spread across the front of my face, and not just my muscular buttocks springing my body forward at the speed of sound, they'd have known that it wasn't anything terrible, but rather the most amazing thing in the world: a package on my doorstep.
When I got inside and cut it open with the first kitchen knife I could find, I was more pleased than I thought I would be. This was WAY worth the pre-order and waiting a few days longer than everyone else to have the album in my hand.
The contents of the package:
13"X19" screen-printed/letterpressed poster
Ltd. edition 180 gram vinyl copy of Green Grow the Rushes (mine is 126/1000)
Vinyl edition of White Wilderness
CD version of White Wilderness sent in a reused padded envelope that someone had used in the Netherlands
45 rpm with "Too Much Time" and "Moon Rocks"
45 rpm with "D.I.A.L.O." and "Do What You Want"
A signed photo by John of the Western Sierras, CA.
Not bad for $45 plus shipping, eh?
And, to top it all off: here in a few hours I'm going down to SLC to hear the designer/branding team Hatch Design speak. I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight!

Woo!
I opted for the CD/photo preorder. My photo is 'Moorish Tiles' taken in Lisbon.
Oh... good album, too...
Yeah. I've really been enjoying it. :)
I need to get a new needle for my turntable though. It's pretty worn.
When did your receive your package? Yesterday too?
